The Harvard Business School Club of Dallas invites DBC members to lunch with Ron Kirk.

Ron Kirk was the first African American Mayor of Dallas (1995-2001). As Mayor, he earned a reputation for bringing together diverse coalitions to get things done.

He was also the first African American to serve as U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), for which he received the title of Ambassador and was a member of President Obama's Cabinet, serving as the President's principal trade adviser, negotiator, and spokesperson on trade issues. He has been recognized as one of the "Nation's top government relations lawyers" by Best Lawyers in America - a publication that highlights the top 5% of practicing attorneys in the U.S. - and was also named one of the "Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America" by the National Law Journal.

Ambassador Kirk has joined the Texas Central Railway as senior adviser for the bid to connect Dallas and Houston with a high-speed rail line. Kirk said he was drawn to the project because it is infrastructure that will create jobs, support economic growth in the metropolitan areas it serves and is environmentally friendlier than planes or cars.
