Lunch With Mayor Mike Rawlings
The Harvard Business School Club of Dallas invites the DBC to join them on Thursday March 7, 2019 for a special presentation by Mike Rawlings, Mayor of Dallas. Mayor Rawlings will speak to us about the Major Challenges Facing Dallas Going Forward.
Mike Rawlings came to Dallas in 1976 with a couple hundred dollars in his pocket and plans to work as a radio reporter. He didn't think he'd stay long. But over the next four decades, Rawlings proved that Dallas is truly a city of opportunity.
Today, Mike Rawlings is the 61st mayor of Dallas and the longest-serving mayor in more than 57 years. Over more than seven years in office, he has focused on spurring economic development in the long-overlooked southern portion of Dallas through his GrowSouth initiative, improving public education, combatting poverty and domestic violence, developing parks, elevating the city's international profile and turning Dallas into a top destination for artists, young professionals, families and corporations.
